5-day celebration of Midsummer in an ancient Cambridgeshire woodland
Fri 20 to Wed 25 Jun 2025
This Midsummer camp celebrates the longest day of the year, a time when the greenery is lush and the days are slow and mellow. We will be spending long, leisurely days immersed in nature, surrounded by the bird song and the barks of the foxes and the deer, with the sun following its slow path across the sky. There is no-where better to spend Midsummer than in the beautiful ancient woods and the meadows at Ashlyn Woods, with a small group of beautiful souls to share it with. There'll be dancing, singing, playing music together, saunas, being in nature, community and lots more! The programme will be co-created so you are invited to add your own contributions to the pot (or just come along and relax).
Vision
Our vision for High Sun Camp is to:1. Build a safe, nourishing, community space in which we can all relax and be our authentic selves2. Provide a space away from devices and daily stresses in which we can find spaciousness and relaxation.

High Sun Camp is an annual five-day gathering of a constantly evolving community, with some members attending for many years and others joining anew each year. The event includes camping, vegan (sometimes with a vegetarian option) evening meals, agricultural activities, and a midsummer ceremony. There is also a wood-fired sauna and cold plunge. The camp is a shared journey. We arrive and leave together: there are no “weekend only” tickets or other part-time options. We arrive to camp from 3pm on Friday and leave the site as we found it by 3pm on Wednesday.Once you have arrived, there is nothing to spend money on. You will need to bring food for breakfast and lunch or be prepared to go off-site to buy supplies. There are no shops within walking distance.Ashlyn Wood is an area of ancient woodland enclosing a moated island in rural Cambridgeshire. The camp is small; no more than sixty-five people will attend, including crew. Ashlyn Wood is an electricity-free zone, meaning no mains power or generator. Trees include oak, ash, hazel, elder, alder, hawthorn, blackthorn and mature elms.
